Wie durft? Het hoogste gebouw in LA krijgt een doorzichtige glijbaan op de 70ste verdieping

Waaghalzen die binnenkort naar Los Angeles trekken, hebben er een nieuwe uitdaging bij. De U.S. Bank Tower – hét hoogste gebouw van West-Amerika – krijgt namelijk een doorzichtige glijbaan van het 70ste naar het 69ste verdiep. Deze skyslide is niet voor watjes!

De U.S. Bank Tower is het hoogste gebouw van de Amerikaanse Westkust: 304 meter hoog om precies te zijn. De toren in downtown Los Angeles wordt momenteel volledig gerenoveerd en beschikt straks over een panoramisch uitzichtplatform, een restaurant op de 70ste verdieping én de nu al legendarische Skyslide. De duizelingwekkende doorzichtige glijbaan is 10 meter lang en brengt je van het 70ste naar de 69ste verdieping. De glijbaan bestaat volledig uit glas, je kan met andere woorden genieten van een fenomenaal zicht, ook naar beneden! Wauw!

Een ritje op de glijbaan zal 8 dollar kosten. Een bezoek aan het panoramisch platform zal zo’n 25 dollar kosten. De opening wordt verwacht in juni.

CBS Los Angeles reported the U.S. Bank Tower, the tallest building west of the Mississippi, is getting a scream-inducing new tourist attraction called Skyslide. The 36-foot-long glass slide will allow thrill-seekers to slide from the 70th floor down to the 69th floor on the outside of the building. The slide is about 1,000 feet above ground and will give sliders quite the view down. A new observation deck and upscale restaurant are being added on the 71st floor, offering views from the hills of Glendale to Catalina. Organizers expect tickets to run about $25 for the slide and observation deck once the attraction opens by the middle of this year.
